A week in Corfu with my Dad, his wife and my siblings. My Dad spends a lot of time round here as a ‘swim guide’. I think this means sitting on a boat in the sun whilst rich tourists paddle around in the sea.

We had a villa up in the hills that got a spectacular sunrise every morning. Corfu is a very green island, with trees and meadows alongside the winding roads in the hills.

We spent days either on the beach or razzing about in boats; one day we crossed over to Albania and got caught by a huge thunderstorm. Lots of cats in Albania. I fed half my sea bass in a restaurant to one. A highlight was Mathraki, a tiny island with a few tavernas. It’s nice to have time hanging out with my siblings, but unfortunately my Dad can still beat me regularly at table tennis.

An early start on the Friday and I’m off to Istanbul to meet Adil and Ege. I’ve got another stopover in Athens airport, bringing my cumulative time spent in the departures lounge to about 11 hours…
